How to Use Instagram’s Latest Feature to Your Advantage: Pinning Instagram Posts to Your Profile

Pinning posts on social media platforms like Tiktok, Twitter, or Facebook, isn’t new, but for Instagram it is. Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced on 6/7/22 new features that help creators customize their profiles.

 

Pinning Instagram Posts to Your Grid

Now Instagram creators will have more control over their profiles, with the ability to pin their posts to the top of their profile’s grid.

How to Pin Posts to Your Instagram Profile

To add a pinned post to your Instagram profile, select the post you’d like to pin and click on the three dots at the top right.

From there, you’ll be able to select “Pin to your profile”. After clicking that, you’ll now see your post at the top of your grid in your proflie.

To remove a pinned post from your grid, you’ll follow the same steps but select “Unpin from your profile” instead.

 

Why You Should Pin Posts to Your Grid

One of the biggest reasons to use Instagram’s newest feature, Grid Pinning, is to have more control over what your ideal audience sees when landing on your profile.

Get Your Instagram Posts in Front of More Eyes

Do you have a new product for sale? New lead magnet to share? What about an “about me” photo? These are all reasons to pin your content to the top of your grid!

To help you decide on which to pin, think about what you’d like someone who lands on your Instagram profile to see first.

Keep Sponsored Posts Higher

Do you have paid partnership posts you’d like to be seen more than the average Instagram post’s lifespan? By pinning your sponsored posts, you’ll be able to leverage your grid space by getting it seen by more people, for a longer time.

Creators can actually make more money from their posts with a feature like this. Allowing them to leverage the length of how long a pinned post will stay up on their profiles, and so on.
