This how to is super simple and very few steps! I came across this website which has a FREE downloadable PDF or PNG template to work with the site’s converter. Create a font based off your handwriting in literally minutes.
Print this template (you might want to print a few just in case you make a mistake), and fill out each letter you’d like or feel is necessary. I filled out the entire sheet using a Fine Point Black Sharpie. After making sure you have neat and dark lines, use a scanner to create a digital copy of your newly made “font.”
Before you upload, make sure the grey lines are still visible on the template.
If you don’t have easy access to a scanner, you can take a picture of the entire page on your phone! You must make sure that the lighting is decent, and that the lines are still visible once uploaded to your computer. I did have to play around with this one a bit, I ended up uploading the digital file into Adobe Photoshop and cropped around the paper template. After playing around with that for a little bit, the font came out better than the previous times I uploaded to the site. It is doable though! Scanner probably works best.

Once you upload your file to the site, name your font and decide which file type you’d like back (TTF for me). It will then show you a preview of your font. Make sure your spacing between letters is correct. If not you may have to re-take the image of/re-scan the template. Once all of that is squared away, download your font and test it out in Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop! Wherever you’d like!

Thank you for reading & be sure to share! I’m sure there’s a ton of other creatives DYING to know. I used to be one of them! 🙂
