Starting this October off right with the purchase of what has come to be my favorite font. I’m serious- everyone I’ve showed my creations with has fallen in LOVE with this beautifully handwritten with a calligraphy brush font. Let me stop verbally obsessing and show you what I mean. Over the weekend I was creating new images for a clothing website and wanted to brand it for the new season. Although I love my Spring- Fall is a close second when it comes to favorites. I love sweatshirts, leggings, LEAVES*, candles (although those are year round), and of course Halloween.

Back to the design, I found the free demo to this font here, and literally needed to purchase the full version (which by the way includes another font!!) because I saw myself using it in everything between personal use and for clients. Always be sure to check the licenses that come with content you download. Recently I’ve only used it for this ad and was used in a previous logo design mentioned in this post. You can purchase the full version that includes the Serif version here.
I would love to share this image for your use. Please comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll send you the image without the copyright!
Okay, okay. #OctoberFavorites is plural.. so this font isn’t the only thing I’m obsessed with. Have you noticed the amazingly detailed and photographed leaves used in the image above? They’re apart of an entire set of a Custom Scene dedicated to Autumn! These leaves are used in the freebie offered here, but you can also buy the full version here. Creator Román Jusdado has an entire store on creative market filled with custom scenes/objects like these! I was about to purchase the full version at 300DPI (because why wouldn’t you?) but I saw he had a lot more than just the Autumn to offer! So now I’m looking into which one I want more (and would use more- of course. My shopping problem hasn’t gotten that bad… 😉 )
“These leaves are used in the freebie version of a Custom Scene – Autumn Edition.”
Aren’t these super cute? I whipped them up to show off this fancy new font but.. I might print them and sell them? Thoughts?
Of course, the scene above has been created with a ton of different mock ups I have also grabbed from my favorite resource site. You can find out more about this site and the other site listed above in one of my MUST Haves for Designing post! I go into depth about what I use and why I use it! I’ve taken the Card & Envelope from this mock up, and changed the background to a more fitted texture. The wooden background ties in the Autumn feel I have going for the post- and really allows the cards to stand out.
If you haven’t already- click on each image to view it at a better resolution on my Flickr page! You’ll be able to check out most of my photography and designs on there. These are sized down so that they don’t make my, or anyone else’s, computer blow up when you visit my site! What’s your favorite resource site? Do you use stock photos, and if not, why? I don’t mind bite! Leave a comment or email me if you have any questions or opinions. I’d love to hear from you! Happy Autumn! ♥
*LEAVES – This is a reference to @hairbymoran. We went shopping and of course ended up in Bath & Body Works and found all different types of this scent called Leaves. It’s the definition of fall for us now, and let it be known that her room has been smelling like fall since late August. Sorry to out you, Bean! 😉
