July Going on December

I can’t believe the last time I posted here was in JULY. Once I stop writing consistently, it’s always that much harder to start back up. Especially when it’s been so so long… I never know whether to acknowledge my absence or just act like nothing happened. Sooooo… what have I been up to lately?

Portfolio Site Re-Design

Don’t yell at me! I know I keep re-designing it!! I decided on a newer look for my portfoliobecause I wanted it to be a bit more modern. I’m still adding things to it and making changes as I go along. Currently the only thing that upsets me is the favicon but we won’t get into that right now. LOL! I selected 6 projects that were recommended to be added but also my newest work that I favor/can share that shows variety…

I also wanted to add more general interaction & experience to my portfolio. I did this by adding hover effects to links and images that link someplace new. I want to add more mouse interaction but I’m still learning the ropes, so I won’t crash my website just yet.

Senior Year

Thankfully, it’s all almost over. Well, kind of. That’s another story for another day. I’ll have my bachelors degree in Design by Spring of 2019! It feels like it’s taken forever to get here, but it also feels like just yesterday that I was a freshman. Either way, I’m stoked. I’m ready for a new adventure.

I have a total of 5 classes left before I graduate, not including the 6 I’m taking now. I’m so close!! Super super thankful for the friends I’ve made & the teacher’s I’ve met. It’s not set in stone yet, but it looks like I’ll be taking French, Interaction Design, Information Design, Senior Portfolio, Web Design II, and Advertising Design. It feels like just yesterday I was taking this pic with my boyfriend. I miss my long hair!!!

New Projects in the Making

I always enjoy keeping busy, so of course that’s what I’m doing! This includes selling my marketing services, design packages, as well as freelancing for the coolest small businesses ever (and I’m not just saying that!)

I know I’ve already mentioned my portfolio’s re-design, but there’s more coming soon… I have a few ideas in the making that I want to offer on my site. Super top secret for now, but I can’t wait to share more details!!

If you’ve been around for awhile, you might know about my love (or obsession), for books. I’ve recently become addicted to everything that is publication. Whether novels, magazines, booklets, textbooks… Everything that speaks to me or speaks out visually, I need to buy. So I’ve been dabbling with typography and how to use it successfully – or not – in publications. It’s a lot more fun when there aren’t any rules….

Okay, okay. I promise I’ll stop talking but I thought I owed everyone a little catch up post.  I can’t believe I’ll be writing my 2018 wrap up post soon, this is crazy!! What have you been up to this year? Share some accomplishments with me, I’d love to hear them!
