Last year, I didn’t hit my reading goal, but I read quite a few books, which changed how I think for the better. I’d say that’s a win! As a self-employed business owner, perfectionist, and overthinker, these books helped me reclaim brain space and make room for what really matters. Here’s a list of the best business & self-improvement books I read last year!
If you’re looking for a good self-help book, I’d highly recommend Brianna West’s The Mountain is You. It was a short read but jam-packed with golden nuggets from building emotional intelligence to self-sabotage and beyond. Basically, it’s a book about getting out of your own way.

All but one in this list are fiction books, and that one non-fiction book is I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. Her memoir is funny yet heartbreaking and made me feel all the feels with each page. It’s brutal but real and refreshing to read how she navigated it all at such a young age.
