I’ve been seeing some posts on Instagram where someone will dedicate a day out of the week to posting a mood board or inspiration board. I thought YES, this would be so much fun and it’ll keep me on track with taking photos more frequently. Being a full time student and working when I’m not at school makes it difficult to take photos during the day, missing the natural light. With that said- here’s my first #MoodMonday. 🙂 BTW there are affiliate links in this post~ read more about them here.
Let me start off by saying thank you to my love, Pat, for dealing with my “WAIT YOU NEED TO PULL OVER RIGHT NOW” moments. We were driving to one of our favorite beaches after taking the pup for a walk when we happened upon this clearing with the sun just starting to set. Below is the result of one of those “PLEASE PULL OVER I’LL BE QUICK” moments, (little did he know quick meant almost 200 images later) and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
The photos were developed in Adobe Lightroom CC and fine tuned in Adobe Photoshop CC. Being a #MoodMonday, found below is the photograph taken with a select few colors I found in the image that definitely describe my week perfectly. I love my purples (my favorite color is wisteria after all) and deep reds/pinks and it definitely gives this photo just what it needs. The original photograph came out very warm and filled with rich yellows (found above) which I loved but felt like it was missing something: colors! Keeping the warmth from the original photo and adding some reds and purples is just what it needed.

Posted are only a few of my favorites from the many photos that I took. The mood I’ve chosen for this week, from these colors, is very mellow and cozy. Being that these colors are a mix of reds and blues, we’re in between hot and cold which I’d say is pretty cozy. My favorite part about this set is the very subtle bokeh effect caused from the sun glare. To me, bokeh can make such a difference in photography. I especially find myself using bokeh in the background of portrait photography, it’s more interesting than just a blur.

I’m going to be playing around with the layout of #MoodMonday posts for the future. It’s exciting to finally be sharing my photography that’s in some way useful to other photographers. There is some VERY big news that I can’t exactly share yet, but it’s an amazing opportunity. I’m really looking forward to sharing this with you so keep an eye out! Don’t worry, I won’t let you miss it. 😉
If you have other questions regarding how I took what, please leave a comment below or email me! I’m happy to help.

Hahaha! I’m glad I’m not the only one! It happens more often than not
So I thought, what would be my mood looking at your picture and what would be my mood be if I had been sitting in that field looking at that actual wheat field. I think the picture makes me wanderlust but the actual place would have been more of a lazy relaxing mood while sitting in silence, which is very hard for me if you must know.
Exactly what I was thinking! It was very relaxing when I was taking these photos so I tried to continue that feeling when editing. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
