Product Photography – Ipsy March 2017

Not my usual kind of post, I know. Believe me, I’m not a beauty blogger of any sort. I can hand draw a portrait of myself much better than I can draw in my eyebrows. BUT, I have a certain kind of love for product photography. After collabing with Biographie jewelry I realized how much I enjoyed creating scenes for each product and capturing each small detail. Ready to see what I’ve come with? Design details are of course, included in this post. There are cookies in this post and you learn more about them here.

Ipsy is a monthly subscription box where you receive a bag filled with five makeup related items. Knowing I receive this every month for ONLY $10 actually keeps me from spending more money on more makeup. Each bag is themed and for March the theme was Tres Jolie which translates to English from French (my fluent French speaking boyfriend has confirmed) as “very pretty.”

The Design

Okay so this is what I’m all about. A previous blog that I had worked on was all about text wrapping around products. To be honest I love the look of it, especially typefaces that look like they are handwritten. Adding a little hand drawn arrow is just a special touch. Now of course I’ll be linking all of these wonderful design resources so that you can try them on your own and use them in your own creative way. For the future I’m excited to really make these pieces original, although I do love giving fellow designer’s shout outs. Meaning using my own handwriting around the items with original hand drawn arrows. Although I do really love sharing new and different fonts, I have too many not to share! Links to download for yourself are below.

I’ll wrap this lengthy post up (it was about the photos after all) but I hope you find Ipsy just as exciting as I do! I definitely recommend you join this subscription box as well as check out Book of the Month Club! If you have any suggestions on other subscription boxes I would love to hear about them just leave a comment. 🙂 If you’re looking  for someone to hire for product photography, I would be more than thrilled if you left an email here or commented below. Creating is a lot more fun when you’re creating with other people. To learn more about sponsored posts you can check out my Sponsors page!
